V Brooklynu začnou záhadně mizet mladé dívky. Jednoho dne je unesena i krásná archeoložka Daisy (Samantha Mathis), do které je zamilovaný instalatér Luigi Mario (John Leguizamo), kterému nezbývá nic jiného, než se se svým parťákem Mariem (Bob Hoskins) vydat do dinosauřího světa ukrytého v podzemí Brooklynu, kde vládne krutý vládce Koopa (Dennis Hopper).
