Scott Calvin je otcem desetiletého syna Charlieho. Neustále má málo času, skoro nikdy nedokáže vyzvednout syna včas od bývalé manželky. Celý jeho život se změní v okamžiku, kdy za něj nečekaná událost vyřeší otázku, jestli má Charliemu říct, že Santa Claus neexistuje. Když se synem vyběhne před dům, uvidí na zemi ležet Santa Clause, který právě spadl ze střechy. Ten má u sebe kartičku, podle níž ho má nálezce zastoupit. A než se překvapená dvojice vzpamatuje, Santa zmizí. Zůstane jen jeho kostým, kouzelné sáně se sobím spřežením a nerozdané dárky. Scott a Charlie do nich nastoupí a zbylé dárky rozvezou. Najednou se na krátký čas ocitnou na severním pólu v Santově sídle. Tam jim Bernard, který má na starosti přípravu a rozdělování dárků, vysvětlí, že ten, kdo si obleče kostým skutečného Santa Clause, musí převzít i jeho povinnosti. A pak jsou tu zase Vánoce a před Scottovým domem zastaví Bernard s kouzelnými saněmi. (TV Nova)
