Sean Kelleher (Michael Madsen) je amatérsky boxer. Keď pri zápase náhodne zabije svojho brata, zaviaže sa, že už nikdy nevstúpi do ringu a začne novú kariéru ako obchodník s autami. Po tom, ako jeho manželka zomrie na vzácne srdcové ochorenie, sa Sean dozvie, že jeho syn Mikey (Richard Chamberlain), ktorý kedysi box trénoval. Aj keď rodina Cestovateľov a ich vodca Papa Boss (Patrick Bergin) Seana podporujú, jeho šance na úspech nie sú vysoké.
